When creating, I rely on my intuition to guide the process.
Yes, skill and technique are involved, but I always get the feeling that I’m not making the work alone, that there is something else present.
And so the body of work presented in this show came about intuitively, in the studio using locally source scraps of material collected over time.
Overall, the African continent and its many cultures remains the greatest inspiration in my practice. -Tshidi
