Although made by a retired fisher-man on the Baltic Island of Gotland, the rings are named after a Brazilian sea town named Bahia, that caught Nina’s heart about 20 years ago.

Partially raised in the island of Gotland (the same island that Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman retired to until his death), Nina travels there each year to visit her mother’s summer house. During one of these summer trips to the island, Nina met Palle, a retired fisherman, that now makes the small beaded colorful BAHIA rings with the same tie technique.
